Ministry of Transport said the unit has advisory report summarizes research project to connect the overall transport between Vietnam - Laos and roads connecting Vientiane - Hanoi.

Accordingly, for the roads connecting Vientiane - Hanoi, scale planning high-level road with 4 lanes, the minimum width of the road Bn = 22,5m;

Technical standards are applied in Vietnam Standards (TCVN4054-05 and TCVN5729-12) and Standard Laos (RDM96).

The total investment cost road construction is expected to reach $ 2.5 billion figure.

In particular, it will invest 2 phases: Phase 1 (2020) is about $ 1.5 billion and Phase 2 (after 2020) is about $ 1 billion.

At the same time, the project also highlighted the current state of the overall transportation system of the two countries Vietnam and Laos.

Regarding the current state of the transport connections between the two countries, primarily in two forms as road transport and air freight.

Road transport system includes 28 gate, which has seven international border, 7 main gate, gate 14 side.

The system consists of air transport large international airports in Vietnam and a number of airports in Central as Vinh (Nghe An), there are many flights to Laos with frequency from 4-10 flights / week.

Accordingly, research projects proposed network connection between two transport corridors divided country and spindle.

Specifically, there are four main axes are: To the north of Laos - Northwest Vietnam; Central Laos - North, North Central Vietnam;

Economic Corridor East - West between Thailand - Vietnam Laos - South Central Vietnam and Laos axis - Cambodia - Vietnam vertical AH.11.

Maximize the advantages of geographical location and natural conditions of the two countries, especially the potential of Vietnam sea in connection with international transport systems;

In another development, the end of last March, during work between the Minister Dinh La Thang and the Delegation of the Ministry of Transport and Laos, the two sides signed a memorandum of importance.

It is expected that the route will have a total length of approximately 67km from the district Sam I (Hua Phan province) go Tha Gets, the borders Vietnam - Laos.

When completed, the road will connect the district Sam I (Laos) to Thanh Hoa (Vietnam), forming connections Xieng Khouang - Hua Phan - Thanh Hoa.
